The Ratchayothin intersection flyover that will be closed from Nov 22. (Bangkok Post file photo)The Ratchayothin intersection flyover, which is soon to be torn down, will be closed at certain times between Tuesday and Friday as a trial to gauge the impact on traffic flow and finalise the best rerouting option to combat the expected congestion. National assistant police chief Pol Lt Gen Wittaya Prayongpan said an average of 200,000 cars passed the flyover at the Ratchayothin intersection on Ratchadaphisek Road daily. Three new u-turns have been opened near the Criminal Court, SCB Park Building and at the mouth of Phahon Yothin Soi 35. To avoid Ratchayothin intersection, traffic police advise drivers to divert to nearby roads or take a detour via suggested sois on Ratchadaphisek, Phahon Yothin and Vibhavadi Rangsit roads.
